Louie Goose is a renowned Inuvialuit vocalist and guitar player from Inuvik, Northwest Territories.

In 1961 at the age of 10, he began performing for Christmas celebrations with his friend Charlie Furlong.

Louie went on to play music with many Delta musicians in the decades to come, in bands such as, “The Chordells” and “The Mackenzie Delta Band”.

He continues to be a large influence and champion of Beaufort Delta music and musicians.

In his interview, Louie recounts his strong connection to his Inuit ancestry and heritage and the music scene in the Mackenzie Delta region through the 1960s and 70s.

Louie Goose was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong contributions to Aboriginal arts and culture at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in Winnipeg on Nov. 2, 2012.
